An alumna of the Department of Land Economy at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), Mary Janice Bawah, has emerged as the Overall Best Inductee and Best Female Inductee in the Valuation and Estate Surveying Division of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS).
The awards were presented during the Elevation of Fellows and Induction of Newly Qualified Members ceremony held as part of the 21st Surveyors’ Week celebration organised by the Institution.
Janice Bawah received the Surv. Dr. Mrs. Matilda Fiadzigbey’s Best Female Inductee Award in addition to being named Overall Best Inductee in her division, underscoring her exceptional performance throughout the professional qualification process.
A graduate of KNUST with a Bachelor of Science degree in Land Economy, Janice Bawah currently works with the Estates Management Department of the Parliamentary Service of Ghana, where she contributes to property and estate management within the public sector.
Her professional development was guided by seasoned surveyors, including Surv. Timothy Anyidoho (FGhIS) and Surv. Kwasi Darko Asare (FGhIS), whose mentorship played a significant role in her success.
In her acknowledgement, she expressed gratitude to God, her family and friends, as well as mentors and colleagues who supported her journey. She specifically recognised Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, Dr. Mrs. Gloria Sarku Kumawu, Augustine Sobeng, Daniel Dapaah, Samuel Thompson, Dr. Henry Martin and several senior surveyors including Surv. Ayitey, Surv. Dadson, Surv. Quist, Surv. Baabereyir, Surv. Yengnibeh, Surv. Feglo, Surv. Asante and Surv. Musah-Saaka for their guidance and encouragement.
